What is the DEAC?

Close
The Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency and also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). It accredits distance education institutions that offer online programs such as those pioneered by Valar Institute.

I’m not from the United States. What does accreditation mean for me?

Expand
Most employers and educational institutions outside the US will recognize your degree from Valar Institute, as it is a division of an accredited US institution. Recognition of foreign degrees is determined on a country by country basis. If official recognition of your degree is important to employers or potential employers in your country, we encourage you to check on degree recognition with the relevant organizations in your country.

With accreditation, is my company more likely to provide tuition assistance for my Valar degree?

Expand
Yes! Many companies that offer tuition assistance for higher education degree programs require those institutions to be accredited. For both our MBA and Executive MBA, this may mean that you are eligible for full funding of the degree. Check with your HR department and find out more here.
